"Go and make disciples of all nations…" - Matthew 28:19a

We are ambassadors of Christ and our commission is to effectively share the Gospel with our friends, church family, community, and people around the world.

In addition to information events throughout the year, we help support three missionary families through financial giving, prayer, and encouragement on birthdays and anniversaries. Through the Southwestern Washington Synod, we also come together in various ways with our global brothers and sisters in our sister synod, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Namibia.

We send students for annual seminary visits in order to encourage them to serve the Lord in ordained ministry or as a professional lay person. We also financially support the ministries of the ELCA, including Lutheran World Relief, World Hunger, Disaster Relief (Domestic and International), eight seminaries, 28 colleges and universities, social ministry organizations, outdoor ministries, campus ministries, advocacy with the United Nations, Lutheran World Federation, and new and developing congregations.

The witnessing team helps congregation members be more effective in inviting others to worship here at First Lutheran. The team also helps congregation members find ways to share their faith with those who do not know Jesus.
